State System
Belarus is a presidential republic. State power divides into legislative, executive and judicial.
President of the Republic of Belarus is Head of the State, a guarantor of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, human and civil rights.
According to the Constitution (1994, with changes and additions adopted on the republic referendum on November 24, 1996) legislative organ of state power of the Republic of Belarus is Parliament that consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Soviet of the Republic.
Executive power of the Republic of Belarus belongs to the Government, in other words, the Council of Ministers of the RB and the central organ that is accountable to the President of the RB and is responsible before the Parliament of the Republic of Belarus. Local government and self-government are put into practice by local Soviets of Deputies; executive and administrative organs, self-government organs, referenda, meetings and others.
Judicial power in the Republic of Belarus is vested in courts. Control over the constitutionally of regulatory enactment in the state is exercised by the Constitutional Court.
The Procurator-General of the Republic of Belarus Supervises the precise and uniform execution of laws, decrees, ukases and other regulatory enactments by all state government bodies, local Soviets and other judicial and physical persons. Control over the execution of the republican budget, the use of state property, the execution of acts of the President, Parliament which regulate the state property relationship, as well as economic, financial and tax relations are exercised by the Committee of State Supervision of the Republic of Belarus.
