65. CORRECTION OF THE GENERAL PLAN FOR HEALTH RESORT AND RECREATION ZONE, NAROCH

Customer: Committee on Architecture, Urban Development and Territory Planning of the Regional Executive Committee, Minsk
Minsk-Vilnus-Polotsk highway crosses the zone.
Watercourses of the zone are represented by five large lakes: Naroch, Miastro, Batorino, Miadel, Bolshie Shkvaty, as well as by the group of smaller lakes and rivers. The total watercourses area equals to 14470 hectares.
Together with watercourses and various relief shapes of glacial epoch, vegetation of the resort zone forms original natural and vegetavle complexes - unique picturesque landscapes having an esthetical, sanitary-hygienic and recreation value.
Within the zone there is a number of safequarded territories - reservations of local and republican importance.
Recreation development of Naroch zone began at the end of the 50-th. At present the network of medical and health-improvinf establishments in the territory of Naroch resort recreation zone is represented by 16 establishments for treatment, rest, tourism for adults and children. About 100 thousand people improve there their health yearly.
66.THE PROJECT FOR HISTORICAL BUILDING REGENERATION,NESVIZH

Aim of the Project: Town of Nesvizh reconstruction into the center of international tourism according to "Perspective Layout for tourism development in the Republic of Belarus".
Description: Nesvizh is first mentioned in the chronicle of 1223 as a capital of the independent principality of the Prince Ioury. In 1513 to 1793 the town belonged to the Radzivills' family.
The planning and architectural look of Nesvizh were formed in 1584 to 1616. Nesvizh is the place of location of worship complexes which are the memorials of architecture: Bernardinnes' Abbey (1598), Jesuitical Collegium (Roman-Catholic church, 1584-1593, architecture of Bernandony), Benedictins' Nunnery (1590), Orthodox Cathedral (the end of the 16-th century).
In addition to worship complexes, the Town Hall, the Handicrafts House, the Palace-and-Castle Ensemble with adjacent parks, Alba country park - are the memorials of architecture as well.
The major element of architectural and spartial composition of the town is the Radzivills' castle, which dominates the territory and is surrounded with watercourses in the east, west and south. Next to the castle the 19-th century park is layed out, which includes five interconnected landscape regions, each has its own complete composition (13.5 hectares).
Due to the importance of its urban development heritage, Nesvizh belongs to the first group (class A) towns.
