Vladimir Korotkevich (1930-1984) the most read modern
Belarusian writer, poet, playwright, film script writer.
Among his most popular works are novels The Wild
Hunting of King Stakh, The Black Castle
Olshanski, books of poems The Mother’s Soul
(1958), scripts to the films Witnesses of the Eternity (1964), Memory
(1966), Be Happy, River (1967).
The monument is erected in the place where the Korotkeviches’
house used to be and where Vladimir lived when he was 15-17 years old.
