- Those who have kids know how much love, attention
and patience is needed to grow the child. The parents, and mothers first
of all would scarify everything to see their grown up children healthy
and happy.
- But unfortunately, not everything depends on
parents. Life is insecure. There are still wars and car accidents, hunger
and diseases, drugs and self-destruction. Sometimes people lose their connection
with God and let their life break into pieces. How painful it is for the
mother to see her child's suffering and not to be able to help.

- During numerous wars, Belarus located on the
way from western countries to Russia, always suffered most. Every fourth
was killed during the W.W.II. We regained our pre-war population only in
mid 80s. But these figures do not convey the grief and sorrow of women,
who lost their children, their husbands and beloved. Then, the Afghan War
came. Look into the eyes of the girl. She didn't live though the W.W.II,
but the same tragedy found her in peaceful Belarus. What for?
- Maestro says, ' I paint what is familiar for
me. But my heart is bleeding for all the mothers. Tears of blacks and whites,
Christians and Muslims taste as bitter.' Can we remain indifferent to the
massacre in Chechnia and Yugoslavia? Tragedy in Ruanda and Zaire?

In the periods of unrest a lot of innocent people
perished. They were killed during the period of religious and political
persecutions, or died from hunger. The reasons can be different, but the
Madonna's sorrow is the same. She brought her child into this world for
life, not for death, for happiness, not for suffering.
