My paternal grandfather is from Belarus (Kobrin)area. He came to the US in the early l900's and was born 7-26-1889. He said his father was Thomas Merkovsky and that he had a brother Michael. We have been unable to find any information. So, if anyone out there recognizes the name, or knows the family, please let us know. My grandfather went by the name Boris Merkousko in the US, but we can not find Ellis Island Records with either Merkovsky or Merkousko. Would appreciate some help. Thanks |
