BELARUSKALI PRODUCTION ASSOCIATION
Our History
The production amalgamation " Beloruskali named for the 50th annivesary of the USSR formation, is the largest venture in the world for producing potash fertilizers. Its history roots back to the year of 1949 when the Starobin potash ore deposits were disccovered just 130 kilometres south of the city of Minsk. A favourable geagraphical position, a well-developed infrastructure, manpower availability, predetermined a rapid growth of chloride potassium in that region.

In 1963 the First integrated potassium plant was put into operation, in 1965 - the Second one, and in 1969 - the Third integrated potassium plant began functioning. In 1970, on the basis of the three operating integrated plants, was established the production amalgamation "Beloruskali". In 1979 was put into operation the Forth integrated potassium plant. It is done, the productive capacities of the amalgamation reached 5,5 million tons of fertilizers a year in terms of 100 per cent content of potash oxid. At present the production amalgamation "Beloruskali" produces the major part of all potash fertilizers in the former USSR, and more than 20 per cent of the chare in the world production.
In accordance with the client's demand, the Beloruskali amalgamation puts out a rich assort ment of produce ranging from high-concentrated potash fertilizers with the 58-60 per cent nutrient substance ratio, to special products: blended salts milled silvinite, technical salt.

The assortment also includes highly effective chlorless potash fertilizers-potassium sulphate. For the ratail trade the amalgamation produces prepacked fertilizers in two - and three-kilogram packages of potassium sulphate and chloride potassium.

Over 400 freight vans with mineral fertilizers leave spur-tracks of the amalgamation. Roughly 40 per cent of fertilizers are exported. The production amalgamation Beloruskali has a reliable sourse of raw materials, the mines which are fit out with the latest equipment and an advanced know-how practice. An intensive mechanization, line production, experience and professional skill of the Soligorsk miners ensure mining of potash ore for over 40 million tons a year.

The mined are ore is processed at four ore-dressing plats, three of which have a flotation thechnology of ore-consentrating and the fourth is based on a mineral-salt production technology. Over 17 thousand employees work at the amalgamation. The families of miners live in trendy flats with modern amenities.
At their service are: a policlinic, an after-work sanatorium, a rest center for children and groun-ups, kindergartens and creches, the Palace of Culture for miners, the House of Culture for miners, the House of Pioneers, sporting grounds and installations, a vast forest massif with a huge storage pond, joining the town's housing blocks.
