OUR HISTORY
MAZ was celebrated its anniversary in 1994. The firstling
of Byelorussian automobil industry is 52. The enterprise, wich has been
working for half a centure now, owes its existance to Soviet soldiers,
who liberated Minsk, the capital of the Republic, from fashist ocuupants
and to the painstaking work of its builders - ex-guerrilla soldiers and
peoples sent by brotherly nations of the great country to help in the constraction
of the first Byelorussian Atomobile plant.
On August 9, 1944, the State Defence Commiittee adopted
a Decree on the constraction of an Automobile Plant in Minsk. This Automobile
Plant was to become the first automobile plant in Byelorussia. And it became
so.
The firstling of Byelorussian automobile industry
has always enjoed attention and care of the Republic. It has been and remains
the pride of the Republic
The lorries of Byelorussian trade-mark have the BEYLOVEZH
AUROCHS, symbolising the power and strength of the motherland, as their
emblem. The designing of the first Minsk lorries have started during the
Great Patriotic War ( the World War ll ), in the most difficult for the
country year of 1942 in an old Russian town of YAroslavl.
It should be mentioned that the cooperation of the
enterprises of automobile industry that has been created during the past
years is being maintained even after the break of the USSR. As before we
still receive the drives for our lorries from Yaroslavl.
Some lorries made for long-distance transportation have "M.A.N."-
made drives.
Today, when the necessity of restoring the broken connectioms between
the ex-soviet republics is evident, we have calculated that MAZ that managed
to retain it6s connections, is keeping cooperation with more, than 280
enterprises in Russia.

Our sales abroad
(without the CIS) are also growing. We are establishing a network of dealers
to ensure the sales and maintenance of our lorries abroad.
