The Stolen Memory. 04.02.97
Memory about her father was stolen from the Minsk citizen
Alla Ivanovna.
"Once a thin guy of a small stature in his middle
thirties came to me,- Alla Ivanovna is narrating. He said that he was from
Veterans's Council. They were collecting materials about he famous people
for a book and planning to give the whole page for the heroic deeds of
my father. As man of my generation I believe to everyone..." And the
woman told everything what she had known about the feats of arms of her
father- the war veteran, cavalry-man, whome Semyon Budyonny had personally
known. She told also about sixteen orders and medals, a part of which she
had stored at home. The young guest got especially interested in Order
of Lenin. He asked for a napkin to take a picture of the reward on. The
hostess turned for a second and only six months later she got to know by
chance that instead of the real order the thief and swindler in one person
had left ... a plaster cast.
