Italian uniform made in Belarus.(22.01.97)

Contacts with forein partners help the Kobrin garment factory "Lona" to overcome an economic crisis. 90% of all goods are produced from the imported raw materials.

For example, French partners have ordered jackets and overalls for mountain trips. Italian and Czech customers have placed an order for military and fireservice uniform. The marketing department of the enterprise is looking for foreign partners. They have signed a number of beneficial contracts.

The Belarussian enterprise "Koral" went public for the American capital. When in Gomel region, President Lukashenko visited "Koral", engaged in television tubes manufacturing. He supported the idea of the American-Belarussian merger - "Westray-Coral".

The military delegation, headed by Major-General Gooner Lange, the Director of the NATO Coordination Department within the framework of the "Partnership for Peace" programme, came to Minsk on two days` visit. During the negotiation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence the Belarussian military officials discussed with the American delegates the ways of cooperation under the Programme and the participation of the Belarus in the programme "NATO-Belarus". Major-General Gooner Lange had a meeting with Valery Chatskevich, Major-General, the acting Chief-of-Staff of the Belarussian army and Yury Portnoi, Major-General, the Assistant of the Defense Secretary for the strategic planning. The guests visited the Military Academy where they talked to the chief commanders and students of the Academy.

This first visit will allow to define the perspectives and the ways of cooperation within the NATO "Partnership for Peace".
