Parade of law and order
protectors.
Celebrations devoted to the 80-th anniversary of the byelorussian police
started with the parade of the units the Ministry of Home Affairs on the
main prospect of Minsk on the 4-th of March. At 10 o'clock in the morning
under the march of a blass band holiday colomns came to the obelisk on
the Victory Sguare, where the guard of honour was set near the Eternal
Fire. The Minister of Home Affairs of Belorus Valentin Agoletz and the
representatives of the law protective bodies of Russia, Ukrain, Poland,
Lithuania and Latvia having come for the participation in the celebrations,
laid a wreath to the monument of soldiers-liberators.
After the ceremony the Minister of Home Affairs Valentin Agoletz greeted
the participants of the parade with warm words. He noted that during eighty
years of its activity, the byelorussian police has covered difficult path,
earning honour and respect of the people. The Minister underlined that
there are still many unsolved problems before the police officers, but
due to the support of the byelorussian people and the government they would
be able to discharge their duty over law and order protection, safety of
the state and its citizens. Valentin Agoletz mentioned that a lot of workers
of the law protective bodies perished on a beat. The participants honoured
their memory with a minute of silence.
Having congratulated the byelorussian colleagues on the anniversary
date, vice-Minister of Home Affairs of Russia Valery Mishchenkov noted
that the law protective bodies of Russia and Belorus have a common enemy-
criminality. And the common task is to struggle against it. Therefore,
it is necessary to solve this task together. Cooperation of the russian
and byelorussian police was set long ago, there is only the way of its
stregthening for the welfare of both coutries, underlined Valery Mishchenkov.
