Do you remember Svetlov’s lines: « Beautiful name, elevated honor---there’s the Grenade region in Spain»? `The far-away Grenade will become closer these days. A delegation of the University of that city headed by the rector will visit the Belarusian capital. They will participate in a festive opening of the Spanish language center at Minsk State Linguistic University. By the way, this university as well as the society «Belarus-Spain» and the embassy of Spain to Russia is an organizer of the Days of Culture. The Urgent and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Spain to Russia and Belarus Hose Antonio Inturiago and his wife and other representatives of this diplomatic corps are arriving to take part in the coming events.

Well- Order of the Red Star was the first one to reward the national writer Vasil Bykov. Then he was awarded the Orders of the Red Labor Banner (1974), of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (1985), of the Friendship Between Peoples (1994)... The latter one was handed to Vasiliy Vladimirovich at the Russian embassy to Belarus just a week ago.  

At one of the press-conferences the Board secretary of the Union of Writers of Kazahstan Dulat Isabekov said that he was assured about the preparation to Vasil Bykov’s 75th anniversary. Let’s hope that while worrying about the coming event we won’t miss an award that our famous fellow countryman might be given by some other state.
