Dedicated to 79-anniversary of Belorussian Popular Republic the meeting in Minsk had been organized by the Belorussian Popular Front and started, of course, from Scorina Avenue.

At the area of the Red Rolish Roman-Catholic Church at the appointed 11 o'clock nothing forshowed a great march. A lot of believers had being gathered near the Church building holding not flags, but branches of pussy willow in their hands.A few minutes later not far away from the Main post-office whitc-red-white flags emerged on the both sides of the road.

Dense culumns began marching on towards Yakub Kolas Sguare. Someone with hidden byfemale stocking face hazardly was running out to the road and provoked to stop the traffic.

An attemptof people in civilian dress "to catch up the stocking" just before the KGB building was not a success.The partisipants attempts to march out to the public road were also unsuccessful.

The first serious fight began just on the crossroad of the Avenue and Kozlova Street. Unexpectedly Militia and OMON began to use batons reacting on peoples dissatic-faction. Many were suddenly detained.

Disturbance was at its zenith. The police tricd to drive people out of the road, but they were trown by the first thing one comes across.

Coming at the moment OMON rainforced troops had much to do when near cafe "Palyavnich" a real fight began. Besides fists everything coming across were used.

Being involved into the fight, a Militia operator became a farget of snow-balls, his car's frontal gloss was broken by a piece of ice.
