The Run of Peace.

The Run of Peace, the longest international relay race, will start in January 1st in Lisbon. Its route will be about 20 thousands kilometres in length and will cross all European countries. The finish will be in 1999 December 31st in London. At the end of June the Run of Peace will cross Belarus border. In June 23rd the torch should be carried through the Minsk City's streets.

The Run of Peace was founded by Shri Chinmoi, philosopher, poet and sportsman. He thinks that sport helps to make peace on the planet. His followers in Minsk have decided to make their own run on the city's streets. They will start in December 31st at 16.00 near the EUROPEAN Supermarket store. Anyone may run with them.
