A
New Generation Chooses "Ford"
On the 18th of July an official
ceremony devoted to the begining of building the plant of the company "Ford
Union" was held in Obchuk, the suburb of Minsk. The practical realization
of the project is entrust to the rent enterprise "Minskremstroy".
The
first stage of building costs USD3,4 million. By the end of this year engineering
communications will have been laid, industrial and office accommodations
will have been prepared. Presumably, in June, 1997 the first small-displacement
cars of the series "Eskort" and microbuses "Transit"
will be produced. Within the next few months the company will start the
recruitment of personel for a job at the plant.
About a hundred of people will
put on overalls with an emblem "Ford" in september, but by the
start of the industrialn exploitation of the plant this number wil have
risen in a few times. Besides, the company leadership works actively to
place orders asking for the production of component articles for "Ford"
at the Byelorussian enterprises.
