At the start of SoftInform company develpoment there was only one project -- the legislation information system JurInform v.1.0. In August, 1995 it had near 2000 documents. Its concurrents had their fillings in 2-3 times better. But thanks to convinient using, additional features and possibilities which were not present in concurrent systems, and unique technology the JurInform began to be buying. Nowadays the JurInform has more than 200 users.

All documents in the JurInform system are accepted from its sources. Among our information sources we have: Presidential Administration, the Supreme State Tax Inspection, Ministry of Finances, the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Sports and Tourism, and many others, which are our active users in the same time.

Because of any law information is interested by only the barristers and lawers, the special law service was found based on this project, that help us to understand our difficult, often changing and inconsistent legislation.

JurInform is very quickly growed up database containing texts. This system already has freeware compessing engine with compressing factor near 2 -- 2.5 times. But because of rapid growing the volume of database and due to users wishes, SoftInform program developers started to designing and developing their own system of text compression in a principle new level. The test results have already given, and result compression factor has been about 4 -- 4.5 times. In future there plane to increase it till 8 -- 10 times. This thing has already interested by some russian firms; it may said about licensing this technology in future. It's interesting to know, this technology can be used not only in Russian texts, but also in any others.

Analysing the development of JurInform program system, developers decided to design the toolset allowing to realize such systems for short period time. This toolset named InformNavigator. It consists of technologies set not only for interface creating but also for high-effective data processing on low level, particularly, the text compress technology, document modification history building and so on. This system is able to organize an effective document revolving, work with various articles in publishings, newspapers edit offices and so on.

Nowadays abroad there begin to develop such a named telephone servers. Their principles are tracking and processing telephone calls, answering the callers questions, giving sound information and so on. We have this problem too. It would be very convenient to make the telephone calls with this system, to give it the functions of secretary and so on. This problem also has been discussed in SoftInform. There are some matters in this area: there is the sound card developed in Minsk combining the functions of normal Sound Blaster, modem and speech synthezator. SoftInfrom is planning to develop the project of sound office via this card. This office is planning to cost about $200, not a thousand, as foreign systems. Using this project, people will get much more features than via fax with auto anwering system.

Today, "SoftInform" engeneering information firm is a member of Belarissian science and industry association, Gilde of immovable property and Employeers' Union. "SoftInform" takes part in organization of international exhibition on immovable property which will take place in Minsk in October, 1996.

An active collaboration with the Ministry of External Economic Links makes SotInform to think about such a problem as foreign partners access to legislation information of the Republic of Belarus.

There were some steps made in this direction -- the legislation database on external economic activity made in English. It has already attracted the attention of not only the ambassadories, but and foreign businessmen.
