LeoBase file Buffering System

LeoBase Smart Filer (LSF) file caching system is one of the lowest levels of LeoBase kernel. The whole file input/output is based on it. To a great extend it removes the problem of intermediate buffers while data reading and writing. LSF contains a complete set of functions for work with files, buffer control, file distribution on several infromation carriersand so on. While working in network LSF caches separate client's data on his computer and thus reduces network traffic. In principle, LSF provides a means for organizing virtual information arrays, i.e. LSF file can be used as an endless buffer. It's also important that LSF assumes the work with operating system file descrtiptors. Any number of LSF files can be opened simultaneously; for information reading from disk files LSF itself redistributes operational system descriptor files. Besides, unions of physical directories are supported on LSF level. This complexes are named distributed directories, and they allow to place one file on physically different media.
